Prime Builders is a full service contractor with a B1 General contractors license.  License No. 795780.  We are licensed to build any project you desire.  Our employees are fully covered under workers' compensation insurance, protecting the home owner in case of any injury.  Before you choose a contractor for your home improvement project, check them out at the Contractor's Board web site at http://www.cslb.ca.gov.   Make sure they are licensed to build the type of project you are interested in.  Some things to look for are: C or D license is limited to a specific specialty.  C or D license cannot sub-contract any portion of the project and must do all labor themselves or cover all workers under workers' comp. insurance.  Your homeowners' insurance will not cover injuries that may occur on the project if the contractor is not properly license and insured, leaving the homeowner at risk of being sued for damages. Make sure the name on the license matches the name of the people your are working with.  Many contractors will let an unlicensed person use their license number, which is not legal.
